Strength and Dignity are Her Clothing

Luke 21:25–28
“There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. People will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken. At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”

God will bring ultimate justice to this world in the second coming of the Lord. That brings both fear and comfort to my heart. But here Jesus tells us to stand up and be courageous (v. 28), to take comfort in such a precarious time more than to be afraid because the redemption of Christ's followers will be completed. We will be witnesses to His glory just like the apostles. We should really look forward to meeting our Lord face to face if He comes to earth before we join Him in heaven.
God reminds us of His sovereignty: "Remember the former things long past, for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is no one like Me, Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things which have not been done, Saying, 'My purpose will be established, And I will accomplish all My good pleasure'…!Truly I have spoken; truly I will bring it to pass. I have planned it, surely I will do it” (Isa 46:9–11). He is just, He is good, He is faithful, we can trust Him. Let us not be fearful of the future because God is with us, and because of this truth we are secure and can, like the woman described in the Proverbs: "Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she smiles at the future (Prov 31:25)."
