Heaven-Focused Living

Luke 21:37–38
"Each day Jesus was teaching at the temple, and each evening He went out to spend the night on the hill called the Mount of Olives, and all the people came early in the morning to hear Him at the temple."

The Living Life writer says "Jesus, the perfect model of heaven-focused living, retreats at the end of each day to pray and be refreshed in the Spirit. Even the Son of God did not rely on His own strength but lived in complete dependence on the Father", and in all other instances the Bible tells us that Jesus wakes up very early in the morning to pray so He starts the day in communion with the Father —a simple and practical yet powerful demonstration of the perfect community of the Trinity. The triune God is awesome and fascinating especially when I am reminded that in simple terms, in essence God is, a Lover, a Beloved, and a Spirit of Love. And in one of those mornings, praise and glory be unto Him forever, the Lord prayed for us, His Church, to be joined similarly as, and ultimately in, this most perfect union of God: "My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in Me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as You are in Me and I am in You. May they also be in Us so that the world may believe that you have sent Me. I have given them the glory that You gave Me, that they may be one as We are one: I in them and You in Me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent Me and have loved them even as you have loved Me (John 17:20–23)."
