Holiness, Righteousness
Psalms 101:1-8
"I will sing of Your love and justice; to You, O LORD, I will sing praise. I will be careful to lead a blameless life-- when will You come to me? I will walk in my house with blameless heart. I will not look with approval on anything that is vile. I hate what faithless people do; I will have no part in it. The perverse of heart shall be far from me; I will have nothing to do what is evil. Whoever slanders their neighbor in secret, I will put to silence; whoever has haughty eyes and a proud heart, I will not tolerate. My eyes will be on the faithful in the land, that they may dwell with me; he whose walk is blameless will minister to me. No one who practices deceit will dwell in my house; no one who speaks falsely will stand in my presence. Every morning I will put to silence all the wicked in the land; I will cut off every evildoer from the city of the LORD."
Holiness is our main purpose in life, to find favour in the sight of God to be separate from the world, this is exhibited in righteous living amidst the pressures, as well as excitements, distractions, even the good things, of daily life; fundamentally, the way we deal with all these is informed and inextricably intertwined with glorifying God. The LORD said, "do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans pursue all these things, and your Heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you (Matt 6:31-33)." Friends, indeed people do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God (Deut 8:3, Matt 4:4)! God Holy Spirit empower each one of us in this blessed fellowship to live for You, in Christ's glorious Name above all names, amen.
