The War is Over

Numbers 21:34–35
"The LORD said to Moses, “Do not be afraid of him, for I have delivered him into your hands, along with his whole army and his land. Do to him what you did to Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon.” So they struck him down, together with his sons and his whole army, leaving them no survivors. And they took possession of his land."

Because of Christ we no longer fight for victory but we fight from victory. Christ had already won, sin and death has been defeated and we now have to potential should we so desire to break free from the chains of sin and despair. The war is over and it has been so 2000 years ago, we are only picking up the pieces. Though they may be considerable we can be assured that we will win these daily battles because Christ isn't only with us, but within us for the LORD our God is the one who goes with us to fight for us against our enemies to give us victory (Deut 20:4). We are winners, we are victors. Christ had overcome this world (John 16:33). It is an old adage that "history is written by the victors", we then must now "take heart" and author our lives daily according to the victory granted in Christ, what a sweet aroma (II Cor 2:14), let us endeavour to always win within ourselves and win in every area of our lives for the Lord Jesus and savour it. Thanks and Glory be to God!
