Treasure in Heaven
Luke 18:21–23
"All these I have kept since I was a boy," he said. When Jesus heard this, He said to him, "You still lack one thing. Sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me." When he heard this, he became very sad, because he was a man of great wealth."
"The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field (Matt 13:44)" Almighty Father help us realise that You are the best thing that has ever happened to us and the ultimate fulfilment of our lives is only You, that we may be willing to give up our earthly riches, accolades, and profit to live in You. Lord Jesus, nothing compares to You. Help us Holy Spirit to finally get it right and consider everything else "worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus our Lord. For His sake [we would] have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that [we] could gain Christ (Phil 3:8)."
