Aligned To The Only Wise God

II Chronicles 18:1–7
“Now Jehoshaphat had great wealth and honor, and he allied himself with Ahab by marriage. Some years later he went down to visit Ahab in Samaria. Ahab slaughtered many sheep and cattle for him and the people with him and urged him to attack Ramoth Gilead. Ahab king of Israel asked Jehoshaphat king of Judah, "Will you go with me against Ramoth Gilead?" Jehoshaphat replied, "I am as you are, and my people as your people; we will join you in the war." But Jehoshaphat also said to the king of Israel, "First seek the counsel of the LORD." So the king of Israel brought together the prophets--four hundred men--and asked them, "Shall we go to war against Ramoth Gilead, or shall I refrain?" "Go," they answered, "for God will give it into the king's hand." But Jehoshaphat asked, "Is there not a prophet of the LORD here whom we can inquire of?" The king of Israel answered Jehoshaphat, "There is still one man through whom we can inquire of the LORD, but I hate him because he never prophesies anything good about me, but always bad. He is Micaiah son of Imlah." "The king should not say that," Jehoshaphat replied.”

God brings victory and success when we seek His wise counsel, we are given discernment and good judgment. King Jehoshaphat knows this (v. 4) and so he encourages King Ahab to do the same, Ahab relents but is reluctant to hear the words of one true prophet of the LORD (v. 7). Jehoshaphat belives that only the truth will do, no less and so he sought for God’s real servant (v. 6).” We often seek signs that will confirm our biases and desires, it is the easy way after all and that’s just human nature. But Christ, the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6) shows us and lights the narrow path of the true disciple who seeks the truth that liberates our souls  (John 8:32) not necessarily from difficulties but definitely from the wrong direction, let us always seek His wise counsel that we may abide in His love and take the road that leads to eternal life at every juncture. Praise and honour Him in our hearts, minds, words, and deeds, let Him take over: “To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen (Jude 25).” Today, Living Life asks us and may we consider: “What steps are you taking to ensure that your plans align with what God wills for your life?”
