Unstoppable
I Chronicles 20:4–8
“In the course of time, war broke out with the Philistines, at Gezer. At that time Sibbekai the Hushathite killed Sippai, one of the descendants of the Rephaites, and the Philistines were subjugated. In another battle with the Philistines, Elhanan son of Jair killed Lahmi the brother of Goliath the Gittite, who had a spear with a shaft like a weaver’s rod. In still another battle, which took place at Gath, there was a huge man with six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot—twenty-four in all. He also was descended from Rapha. When he taunted Israel, Jonathan son of Shimea, David’s brother, killed him. These were descendants of Rapha in Gath, and they fell at the hands of David and his men.”
One after another the most formidable enemies of Israel fall. When God moves, His power is unstoppable. Gamaliel reminded the Pharisees to leave the Apostles alone: “Therefore, in the present case I advise you: Leave these men alone! Let them go! For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God (Acts 5:38–39).” This is why I believe that when we align ourselves with God, His will and purposes, we are with power too. The key to answered prayers is to make sure that we are so in tune with God that our desires align with His will for our lives. The bible says, “no wisdom, no understanding, and no counsel can prevail against the LORD (Prov 21:30).” God is omnipotent, He is all-powerful, with Him reside events and things that come to be if He wills it for His glorious purposes. He tells us, “I distinguish the end from the beginning, and ancient times from what is still to come, saying: 'My purpose will be established, and I will accomplish all My good pleasure (Isa 46:10.” LORD, may we receive from You, daily, insight into Your will for our lives and on earth, Your will be done here, as it is in heaven. Tune our hearts to rejoice in You always, thankful for Your amazing love, and aware of Your presence, may Your Spirit move in our midst and stir in us living for You. In Jesus Christ’s glorious name. Amen.
