Who Can Be Against Us?

I Chronicles 12:38–40
“All these were fighting men who volunteered to serve in the ranks. They came to Hebron fully determined to make David king over all Israel. All the rest of the Israelites were also of one mind to make David king. The men spent three days there with David, eating and drinking, for their families had supplied provisions for them. Also, their neighbors from as far away as Issachar, Zebulun and Naphtali came bringing food on donkeys, camels, mules and oxen. There were plentiful supplies of flour, fig cakes, raisin cakes, wine, olive oil, cattle and sheep, for there was joy in Israel.”

The LORD brings people together for the fulfilment of His will. Let us be encouraged always that if we align ourselves with God’s purposes, we are not without help and support from Him. The Apostle John writes to us, “you, little children, are from God and have overcome them [deceiving spirits who don’t confess Christ as LORD], because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (I John 4:4)!” Let the Holy Spirit open our eyes in the face of overwhelming odds, and see the number and power that is with us; do not despair, brothers and sisters, if God is with us, who can be against us (Rom 8:31)? Pray that we may always see and follow God, and that we may always realise His hand over all. “The king of Aram sent horses, chariots, and a great army. They went there by night and surrounded the city. When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early in the morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. So he asked Elisha, “Oh, my master, what are we to do?” “Do not be afraid,” Elisha answered, “for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” Then Elisha prayed, “O LORD, please open his eyes that he may see.” And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw that the hills were full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha (II Kings 6:14-17).”
