Pray for Breakthroughs in Global Missions

II Corinthians 8:16–24
“Thanks be to God, who put into the heart of Titus the same concern I have for you. For Titus not only welcomed our appeal, but he is coming to you with much enthusiasm and on his own initiative. And we are sending along with him the brother who is praised by all the churches for his service to the gospel. What is more, he was chosen by the churches to accompany us as we carry the offering, which we administer in order to honor the Lord himself and to show our eagerness to help. We want to avoid any criticism of the way we administer this liberal gift. For we are taking pains to do what is right, not only in the eyes of the Lord but also in the eyes of man. In addition, we are sending with them our brother who has often proved to us in many ways that he is zealous, and now even more so because of his great confidence in you. As for Titus, he is my partner and co-worker among you; as for our brothers, they are representatives of the churches and an honor to Christ. Therefore show these men the proof of your love and the reason for our pride in you, so that the churches can see it.”

Today, I would like us to say a little prayer for our sisters and brothers who are right there in the mission fields. The Apostle Paul extolls St. Titus for the heart for the community of believers, and more importantly he thanks God our Father for impressing it upon him and the rest of their fellow workers for the Gospel. The prophet Isaiah exclaimed, “how beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, "Your God reigns!" (Isa 52:7) those who are sent and who preach (Rom 10:15). I’ve met one who is a friend of our cousin from Every Nation Church, her name is Clarisse and she is in Pakistan, pray that their community of Christ-followers be covered by Jesus’s most precious blood and that they may have all their needs and aspirations met as they share the love of God through Christ alone to a hostile nation, and may the Holy Spirit rain a spiritual air raid to prepare the hearts of the people they share the Gospel with and reign in their minds undeniably! May this be our prayers as well for all our Christian missionaries across the globe, in places unreached, let us pray for breakthroughs! And as for ourselves we are missionaries where God has placed us, let us strive to be above reproach and be found to always be with integrity and trustworthiness, just as well as love and kindness, may the words of our LORD be seared in our hearts as we hold to His sure promise in this solemn duty: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age (Matt 28:19-20).”
