The Promise of Immeasurable Good

Acts 13:26–31
“Fellow children of Abraham and you God-fearing Gentiles, it is to us that this message of salvation has been sent. The people of Jerusalem and their rulers did not recognize Jesus, yet in condemning Him they fulfilled the words of the prophets that are read every Sabbath. Though they found no proper ground for a death sentence, they asked Pilate to have Him executed. When they had carried out all that was written about Him, they took Him down from the cross and laid him in a tomb. But God raised Him from the dead, and for many days He was seen by those who had traveled with Him from Galilee to Jerusalem. They are now His witnesses to our people.”

May the magnificent power of the resurrection of our LORD, Jesus Christ, attested by historical witnesses to us (v. 31), be upon each of us uniquely and personally today whatever we may be facing, as the song says, “things in the past, things yet unseen, wishes and dreams that are yet to come true, all of my heart, all of my praise, my heart and my hands are lifted to You.” This power helps us overcome burdens, frustrations, challenges that facilitate our growth, and also enjoy life in God’s presence acknowledging that “every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows (Jam 1:17).” American author Josh McDowell wrote, “No matter how devastating our struggles, disappointments, and troubles are, they are only temporary. No matter what happens to you, no matter the depth of tragedy or pain you face, no matter how death stalks you and your loved ones, the Resurrection promises you a future of immeasurable good… Few people seem to realize that the resurrection of Jesus is the cornerstone to a worldview that provides the perspective to all of life.” May the presence and power of Christ be evident in our lives today!
