Work of the Tabernacle

Numbers 3:6–8
"Bring the tribe of Levi and present them to Aaron the priest to assist him. They are to perform duties for him and for the whole community at the tent of meeting by doing the work of the tabernacle. They are to take care of all the furnishings of the tent of meeting, fulfilling the obligations of the Israelites by doing the work of the tabernacle."

What is the "Work of the Tabernacle"? The details are in the book of Leviticus. And we know how complicated that was to satisfy the demands of holiness and being set apart for God, even moreso the task of standing in the gap and representing the people in front of God. In the fullness of time the Father sent the Son to be the perfect High Priest (Heb 4:14–16). Jesus is the sole mediator between God and humanity (I Tim 2:5), and today He continuously advocates for us in intercession (Rom 8:34). The Lord came to be with us (John 1:14), the firstborn of God! He lived, died and rose again, we obtained salvation, and when He ascended back to the Father, He goes to do a more perfect Work of the Tabernacle for us: "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am (John 14:3)." Thank You Lord for Your grace, we praise You for Your power and lovingkindness! Help us to walk with You all the days of our lives. Amen.
